Unlike Blackjaw who willingly fused with machinery Zicoatl's transformation appears more tragic and involuntary. A failed containment breach, an overload event, or perhaps a poe2 trade misguided attempt to stabilize the core left him irrevocably changed.

He became the Warden of the Core, not by honor but by necessity. His body is intertwined with the lower power grid. His senses extend through the wiring and conduits. These phrases suggest a tortured consciousness trapped in a mechanized shell driven by duty, delusion, and a desperate desire to prevent another disaster.

The path to Zicoatl grows increasingly dangerous. More constructs appear sleek, fast, and designed for maintenance rather than combat. Their attacks revolve around electricity, magnetism, and forced movement, using abilities that pull or knock players into hazards. They serve as a prelude to the themes of the boss encounter: positioning, reaction time, and avoidance of environmental dangers.

Before reaching Zicoatl, players must stabilize three auxiliary junctions that regulate power flow. Each is its own mini-encounter involving timed puzzles, waves of constructs, and the threat of sudden electrical overloads. Only after restoring partial equilibrium can the final door unlock. Beyond it lies the Core Reactor Chamber, an enormous cylindrical arena where Zicoatl resides, fused to the machinery he once served.

Zicoatl's design is one of cheap POE 2 Divine Orbs most visually striking early bosses. His torso remains vaguely humanoid twisted, elongated, and partially metallic but his lower body has transformed into a massive stabilization unit connected directly to the core's containment rings. Energy pulses through cables attached to his spine. One arm has become a conduction coil capable of hurling arcs of lightning, while the other carries a heavy, piston-powered strike module.
